From Manchester to Spain, by Bernard Barry

From Manchester to Spain : Front cover

Front cover

In July 2009 the Library published a booklet dedicated to the men and women of Greater Manchester who went to the aid of the Spanish people in their fight against fascism in the 1930s, and to the many more who gave their support from home.

From Manchester to Spain, written by  volunteer Bernard Barry, uses the Library's extensive International Brigade archival material to tell the stories of those men and women.

The booklet can be purchased online here.

If you have any further information about local International Brigaders or those who supported the anti-fascist fight from home, let us know.
