The uncatalogued loose material is organised in the following categories:

• Trade Union records and publications - Including membership records, minute books, membership cards, rule books and conference reports, as well as journals and pamphlets. Many of the reports and journals are listed on the online catalogue.
  • Trade Union archives

• Other Pamphlets - The main collections are boxed, smaller amounts of material are stored in sling files. Some are on the database, more are listed on this site, by subject or organisation.

• Ephemera - promotional material for meetings and events, papers presented at meetings, advertising material...All these are filed with the pamphlets.

• Personal papers and other collections. - some relate to an individual's activity within a single organisation, and others more varied. Listed with other non trade union archives.

• Biographies - a list dominated by activists from the North West of England, some files are no more than an obituary, some contain a lot more.

   

• Periodicals - Many of our bound volumes and facsimiles are on the database. The loose collections are split into newspapers, (A4) magazines and microfilm.
